NVIDIA · reasoning checkpoint
Post-trained vision-language checkpoint (vision-adapter training, SFT, RLHF and agentic RL, SLERP merges); no base checkpoint is public. The language backbone was not pretrained from scratch: it was compressed from Nemotron 3.5 Super VL 120B-A12B with Star Elastic (router-guided architecture search plus knowledge distillation from the frozen parent), which pruned routed experts and MoE intermediate channels per layer and cut top-k from 22 to 9 (report §2). Recipe facts (train.*, ctx.*) describe that 120B-token compression and distillation stage; the parent's foundation pretraining (card: more than 20T tokens) is not restated. Despite the nemotron_h_puzzle config class, the publisher names Star Elastic, not Puzzle, as the method. Because routed-expert count and width vary per MoE layer, moe.experts and moe.expert_dim store the per-layer maxima. This BF16 checkpoint precedes the 2-bit QAD of the 24GB variant.

KV calculations use one sequence at 131,072 tokens and 16-bit cache elements. They include bounded sliding-window caches. This is retained cache payload, not peak prefill memory. The comparison table also offers sourced mixed-precision layouts, including quantization scales.
